Export Shapefile

To export one of your layers to an ESRI Shapefile click Menu - Export a layer - Export to SHP file.

You will be prompted to select a layer and then click the Export button.  Several files will be generated which together form a "set" of shapefiles representing the selected layer.  Because of the limitations of DBF files, this export tool also generates a CSV file accompanying each Shapefile set which contains a non-truncated version of the same data.  If the layer contains any attachments, a hyperlink to each attachment will be included in this exported data.  To download the actual documents use the Export Attachments tool.

Output Coordinates

The default export format is WGS84 which will export the shapefile in the map's native coordinate system.  This is the recommended format for all exports.  However, if the software you will be importing this file into requires NAD83 coordinates then choose the NAD83 output datum and the coordinates will be transformed to that datum.

Selected Area

To export only a select portion of your layer(s) click the Rectangle select button and draw a selection box on the screen.  Any features that are at least partially inside that box will be included in the export.
