Making a Public Map
If you have some layers that you would like the public to be able to view without having to login, you can do that by marking one of your maps as public. You can do this from the Map Properties screen. Assuming that you don't want to make all of your information public, we recommend that you create a separate map for the public users and share only select layers from your main map(s) onto this public map. See the video on this page for a walk through of how to set that up.
Notes about public maps
- The public can only view your map layers. but the users on your account will still have their normal editing permissions on your public map(s).
- The public map will have its own web address that you can link to from your company's website, facebook page or emails.
- You can create multiple public maps if needed.
- You have the option of hiding select fields from the public that contain private information such as email addresses and phone numbers, see the Add/Remove Fields article to learn more.
- The Multiple Maps and Shared Layers article talks more about how to manage layers that are shared between different maps.
